You&#8217;ll meet these fascinating animals in their natural environment, with a deep respect for marine life. The guides share their knowledge, making the experience both moving and informative.  <\/p><p>We leave the calm waters of Ria Formosa and head out into the blue ocean, up to 5 miles offshore. We travel along the Algarve coast, past barrier islands and Cape Santa Maria (Portugal&#8217;s southernmost point), in search of dolphins and other marine life. <\/p><p>Several species of cetacean can be seen, the most common being the common dolphin (Delphinus delphis) and bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncates). Seabirds are a constant presence. The most frequently observed species are gannets (Morus bassanus), Balearic shearwaters (Puffinus mauretanicus), Mediterranean gulls (Larus melanocephalus) and several species of storm-petrels.
